It is a  goal of collective.aporia to create community in-person at annual festivals. These festivals will meet once or twice a year in different locations worldwide. The geographical and cultural location of the festival, and the work being done by the hosting artists in that particular area, will directly inform what the theme will be. Each festival will include workshops, lectures, and performances, and will culminate into a community art project.

collective.aporia hopes to amplify artistic and communal work already being done in the chosen location, as well as encourage diverse perspectives, by inviting international artists whose own work is in some way paralleling work being done in that location, or working on the edges of it.

It is our hope that by creating spaces like this, we are able to:

1) Amplify important creative work happening globally

2) Expand and explore ideas around our own creative/communal work

3) Understand better the work and culture of these artists

4) Question and destroy harmful constructions through conversation, creativity, and collaboration

If you are interested in hosting a festival, please contact us at collective.aporia@gmail.com.
