Role description:
The workshop lead is at once liaison, guide, and support system for the workshop facilitator and participants. They are the point person for setting up, overseeing, and closing out the workshop. They are available for communication on Slack and/or email, especially as the workshop is about to begin, to answer questions, send resources, and set up online spaces. They are present in the workshop and help encourage discussion in the chat channel. They help build a communicative and organized atmosphere with the other team members.

Collective-wide responsibilities:

Though we cannot yet pay our team members, you will have access to all workshops, both live and archived. In addition, you will have the option to be published in *apo-press and/or our ongoing blog. We are also happy to promote your work on social media and the website, as well as hold events.

Responsibilities*:
- Make contact with the facilitator at least two months prior to their workshop, send appropriate resources, and remind them of marketing materials, blog posts, and DEI statements.
- Help organize workshop spaces, including setting up website landing pages and Slack channels.
- Send facilitator ‘Introduce Yourself’ forms and collaborate with other team members on workshop participants’ needs, such as disability accommodations and subtitles.
- Introduce yourself in the Slack channel, engage in discussion, and monitor the channel for any questions.
- Post the video and resources to the landing page each week so the facilitator may share it with the channel.
- Close out the workshop: send closing posts in Slack, send archival alerts to the previous month’s workshop participants, etc.
- Schedule and hold a feedback meeting with the facilitator. Take notes about ways we can improve.
- Stay on top of the Trello board so that other Workshop Leads are aware of the progress.

Collective-wide responsibilities:
- Check in on discord every few days to communicate about the workshop and other collective events with team members.
- Attend DEI training every two months; Attend all-hands meetings once a month; Attend workshop meetings once a month.
- Uphold and represent collective.aporia’s mission.
- Create one social media post a week to be shared on all platforms (temporary)
- Brainstorm and implement creative ways for bettering and expanding collective.aporia.
