As of February 2021, we are retiring the open-donation structure for our workshops & moving to a $25 minimum sliding-scale model. We are very excited about this change, as we believe this new payment structure more accurately values our offerings, allows our facilitators (all working artists) to be better paid, & fosters a heightened sense of collective exchange.
However, we understand that this shift might cause financial stress for some of our collective members. To stay true to our goals of accessibility, inclusion, & cooperative reciprocity, we've set up the Work Exchange Initiative (WEI).
The WEI includes work-trade options for folks who cannot afford the minimum $25 donation, or would like to ‘buy-in’ to the collective in a different way, such as by writing blog posts, helping with marketing, or editing video subtitles. We’ve also included options for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion work, which coincides with our DEI initiative. We'll have more details about the DEI initiative in the next few weeks.
